Myler Eggbutt Mullen Bit W/ Hooks & Forward Tilt Low Port - Level 2-3

Crafted in durable stainless steel and featuring a copper inlay on the mouthpiece to help encourage salivation. The Myler Eggbutt Mullen Bit W/ Hooks & Forward Tilt Low Port features the MB 36 mouthpiece. The MB 36 is a Myler alternative to the traditional mullen, but it has a wide low port that allows the tongue to pass under it comfortably. The port is 1 in. high and tilted forward at a 45º angle, allowing just enough room for the horse’s tongue to elevate slightly and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. When the reins are engaged, the MB 36 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lip but also applies tongue pressure because of the forward tilt. Attaching the headstall to the top hook holds the bit in the correct position instead of allowing it to slide around the bridle cheeks. Attaching the reins to the rein hooks allows the rider to lift the cheek and use the Independent Side Movement™ of the mouthpiece. Using the hooks does not add leverage but allows the rider to transition from a direct rein action to indirect action without changing the bit. Direct rein action when rein hook is not used. Indirect rein action when rein is fixed on rein hook. Little to no leverage when the hooks are used.
